Top 10 Stock Photography Websites

Its pretty obvious that the internet has become a place for every creative artist and due to its easy approach it has well proved how easily one artist can use the internet to fulfill his requirements to launch a successful career. Now when it comes to stock photography getting the proper place to promote your photos is what matters the most.

One important thing that I believe that photographers should know before they start publishing their photos online is, are they entering into an exclusive deal or a non-exclusive one. I would prefer non-exclusive if you think you would be able to sell the same photos at various other places whereas if you don’t want to go ahead for multiple selling at various marketplaces you should consider exclusive as in this case the percentage of the sales received is generally higher.

Generally in the tools that I’m mentioning below would have both the type of deals for you. So either its exclusive or non-exclusive.. Think before you go ahead with any of that because obviously both have their own advantages and disadvantages and in most cases you can switch later on as well. Some of these which I believe are really easy to use and prove really well for the newbies include :

#1 Fotolia

This is an amazing place and as the website says you may earn up to 20% to 63% on single image downloads. On the other hand you earn credits if someone downloads on the basis of subscription.

#2 Shutterstock

I think the most popular one when ever some one is up to entering stock photography and chances are you may have seen their logo a lot of times. Really easy to use interface and this website is not only restricted to photography but also video footage and vector graphics.

#3 iStockPhoto

This is the name which comes to a lot of photographers minds after I guess they have tried Shutterstock once. But what I think is this is one of those which is equally as good as the one above.

#4 Pixmac

Another great site which allows you to get your money once you have sold till $50 and the percentage you get varies from 30% to 60%. Really nice way to sell your photos in a great way with no strings attached, this site becomes great for newcomers.

#5 Photodune

A stock photo selling site by popular Australian media company Envato which has its name behind the successes like Tutsplus and themeforest. So in case you are already a seller on any of their other websites you can sign up once and start your photo journey from here.

I think the above mentioned tools will do the best as most of the traffic goes to the sites above most of the times anyone wants to download stock photos, but still there are some others which may prove great for various newbies. Some of them include :

#6 Crestock

#7 123rf

#8 Alamy

#9 Dreamstime

#10 Big Stock Photo

Also I’d like to mention a thing here is if you have a blog along with where you talk about photography or anything that you specialize in you should go ahead for an affiliate program as most of the above websites have their affiliate programs which would surely help you to get great extra bucks.
